Introduction
We are working towards improving the diagnostic workup for suspected platelet function disorders among patients with bleeding symptoms. Platelet function disorders are frequently diagnosed in childhood when initial bleeding symptoms appear. They represent one of the most common bleeding diseases.
There is a critical clinical need to improve platelet function testing. We have recently introduced whole genome sequencing for suspected platelet and bleeding disorders (Karolinska Blödningsgenpanel) and run diagnostic accuracy studies to evaluate new flow-based laboratory methods.
We aim to teach and supervise data collection and statistical analysis (in R). Projects are designed to provide publishable data.
